CBD and inflammation vs. CBG and inflammation?
CBD and rare cannabinoids offer both mental and physical benefits. Many people ask us about CBD and inflammation and CBD dosage for inflammation. This wonderful cannabinoid promotes a sense of calm and stress resilience, and for our bodies, it can reduce discomfort and swelling after physical activity. In addition to CBD for inflammation, many ask which other cannabinoids may help. We recommend CBG for relief from occasional discomfort and inflammation. What is CBG? CBG (cannabigerol) is a close, hemp-derived cousin of CBD (cannabidiol). CBG benefits also include supporting healthy joints.
For this blog, we have gone through all of the most frequently asked questions we receive regarding CBG oil and CBG effects, as well as CBD and inflammation. We hope you find our answers useful. Please check out our other blogs for information on other cannabinoids and uses.
What is inflammation?
Inflammation is a biological response that occurs when the body is injured or infected. The inflammation process is the body’s natural way of healing and repairing damaged tissues. Redness, heat, swelling, and pain are markers of inflammation.
Does CBD help with inflammation? Does CBD help joint inflammation?
Yes, CBD helps occasional inflammation after exercise and supports healthy joints. Many customers also report a lot of success with CBG oil tinctures and CBG gummies, or a combination of CBG and CBD. Scroll down for more information on CBG for inflammation.
Does CBD cure inflammation?
No, none of our products are intended to diagnose, prevent, cure or mitigate any disease. (Please note that this is very important for FDA rules on CBD and cannabinoid companies.)
Where can I find CBD inflammation research?
We encourage you to read the latest research on CBD and inflammation as well as CBD and pain. You can find links to a few of the many scientific studies on CBD and inflammation below. If you’re specifically questioning CBD and brain inflammation or CBD intestinal inflammation, there are further preclinical studies on CBG and those ailments further down this blog:
What is the best CBD dosage for inflammation?
CBD inflammation dosage will vary from person to person. This is because everyone’s body is different and will react differently to CBD. It largely depends on the type and severity of inflammation, one’s overall health and endocannabinoid system, and if you are taking tinctures of CBD oil for inflammation or a CBD salve or CBD rub. CBD and cannabinoids also need to build up in one’s system to be fully effective. Unlike many supplements and pharmaceutical medications, one does not need to increase their CBD inflammation dosage over time. Instead, one should start with a larger CBD dose at roughly the same time daily for a couple weeks. Once their system is saturated with CBD, they should fully feel its effects. At that time, many people find they can reduce their CBD dose and still feel the same effects. Keep a journal of dosage, time, and effects to accurately decide your future needs.
What is the best CBD oil for inflammation?
We offer different types of CBD oils, all of which can be very helpful for inflammation after exercise:
- 1000 mg full spectrum Hawaiian CBD – this CBD oil comes from hemp grown on the slopes of Haleakala Volcano on the Hawaiian island of Maui. As a full spectrum CBD oil, it offers the entourage effect. It contains trace amounts of CBN (cannabinol), CBG (cannabigerol), as well as other naturally occurring rare cannabinoids and terpenes, and less than 0.3% THC.
- 3000 mg CBD oil booster – this is a single extract of CBD, or CBD isolate. It contains a very high level of CBD on its own. THC is filtered out to below lab detectable levels. We recommend using this CBD oil booster to amplify your full spectrum CBD oil or combination of other cannabinoids. This is because cannabinoids will have a stronger effect when taken together rather than on their own. However, sometimes, one would like a higher dose of just CBD, and that is why we created this product.
- CBD Gummies – Our CBD gummies each contain 30 mg CBD per gummy and each bottle contains 30 CBD gummies. They are vegan, naturally strawberry-flavored and delicious. Take CBD gummies alone or combine them with CBG gummies.
We recommend taking 70 mg or less total cannabinoids per day unless advised differently by your physician.
What is the best CBD rub for inflammation? Or the best CBD salve for inflammation?
We recommend our sister brand’s cooling CBD Topical Gel. This weightless gel is not oily or sticky and contains many other ingredients that may help with inflammation, including arnica montana, gotu kola, peppermint oil and menthol, horsetail plant extract, and geranium extract. It is scented with premium essentials oils of eucalyptus and lemongrass grown on the Big Island of Hawaii. The scent is clean, fresh and delicate, neither masculine nor feminine. What is CBG?
CBG (cannabigerol) is a close, hemp-derived cousin of CBD (cannabidiol). Benefits of CBG include supporting healthy joints. CBG effects also include mental balance, calm and stress resilience.
Does CBG help inflammation?
Yes, research suggests that CBG may help to reduce inflammation after exercise and support healthy joints.
Are there CBG medical studies available?
There are many scientific studies on CBG effects and potential CBG benefits. However, most are early, preclinical lab studies, rather than large-scale CBG medical studies. Below, are a few examples of CBG cannabinoid studies. Interestingly, many ask about CBD intestinal inflammation. A study listed below shows how CBG oil is being studied for inflammatory bowel disease.
What is the best CBG oil for inflammation?
We offer three different types of CBG for sale:
CBG oil single extract: This is a pure, high-CBG extract, containing 500 mg CBG in a 30 ml bottle. We recommend combining it with CBD or other cannabinoids for the entourage effect.
CBG-CBD blend: This oil contains a 50/50 mix of CBD and CBG. The full spectrum CBD comes from hemp grown on Maui, Hawaii.
CBG Gummies: These CBG gummies each contain 30 mg CBG per gummy and each bottle contains 30 CBD gummies. They are vegan, naturally green apple-flavored and delicious. These gummies can be taken alone or combined with CBD gummies.
CBG for anxiety? CBN vs CBG? What is CBG used for?
We are also often asked about other CBG oil benefits and the differences between CBG and other rare cannabinoids.
What is CBG used for? In addition to CBG for inflammation after exercise, CBG is used for stress resilience and promoting a sense of calm and balance. While this is similar to CBD, some people notice a different feel. As mentioned above, people will have different reactions to different cannabinoids and at different doses.
CBG vs CBN? CBN is short for cannabinol. It is produced when THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive part of the hemp or cannabis plant is heated or ages. CBN is not psychoactive but is best known for is relaxing, sleepy feel. Many people report that CBN oils or CBN gummies help them fall asleep more quickly and stay asleep longer. See our CBN oil tinctures and CBN gummies here. Although CBG oils and CBG gummies promote calm and balance, they do not actively encourage sleep.
There is some evidence that CBN may support inflammation relief. In this rat model of arthritis, CBN appeared to reduce inflammation.
Meanwhile, CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is also compared to NSAIDS (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). See this study: Cannabidiolic acid as a selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitory component in cannabis
