About CBD and Cannabinoids
CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a natural, organic compound found in the cannabis plant. To be legally sold in the USA outside dispensaries it must be sourced from hemp (cannabis plants containing less than 0.3% THC). Our Rare Hawaiian CBD Oil comes from hemp grown in Hawaii and nourished by mineral-rich red dirt and our year-round tropical climate. It is a full spectrum CBD oil, which means that it contains less than 0.3% THC. If you prefer a broad spectrum Hawaiian CBD oil (which means that THC has been removed to below lab detectable levels), we suggest you use our sister company Hawaiian Choice’s products.
Our extra high strength 3000mg CBD oil uses CBD from hemp grown on the mainland United States and THC is filtered to below lab detectable levels.
Rare or "Minor" Cannabinoids are compounds found in hemp, cannabis and other plants. Each is believed to offer unique health and wellness benefits as they interact with the human endocannabinoid system. CBD and THC are also cannabinoids, but unlike those two compounds, rare – or minor- cannabinoids naturally occur in very small quantities, traditionally accounting for only 0.01% to 10% of the total mass of the plant.
Until recently, it was impossible to extract enough of these rare cannabinoids to be able to sell them. Scientists believe there are dozens of rare cannabinoids, probably more than 100. As technology continues to advance, more rare cannabinoids with different physiological effects will become available to augment peoples’ wellness regimes.
To learn more about the potential benefits of each rare cannabinoid, please visit our individual product pages for information and links to scientific research and read our blog.
Due to FDA regulations, we cannot make any claims that CBD or rare cannabinoids can prevent, diagnose, mitigate, treat or cure serious diseases.
However, on each cannabinoid's landing page, we offer links to scientific and medical research on that cannabinoid and which uses or diseases it is being studied for. This way, you can look up information on third-party websites for yourself.
For more personalized advice, we have a list of independent Cannabinoid Health Advisors.
The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NBCI) also has a wealth of scientific research. You can search for your condition and CBD, CBN, CBC, CBG, CBDA, THCV, CBDV, Delta-8-THC, or specific terpenes, and will often find published medical studies.
Project CBD is a nonprofit dedicated to publicizing research into the medical uses of cannabidiol.
The endocannabinoid system, discovered in 1992, is a network of receptors around the body that helps to keep our bodies in balance - or in a state of homeostasis. It is believed to have a huge effect on our overall health and wellbeing by supporting a multitude of physical processes, including mood, pain, energy, sleep, appetite, metabolism, stress and digestion.
The body naturally produces endocannabinoids, the goal of which are to maintain the body’s homeostasis. Research suggest that CBD and rare cannabinoids work synergistically with this system to help maintain and even improve our natural balance by modulating the endocannabinoid system and supplementing our own production of endocannabinoids.
Each cannabinoid activates or deactivates receptors and works in a different way, producing unique effects.
Full spectrum oil is a rich, whole plant extract which contains diverse and vibrant cannabinoids and terpenes, each of which has its unique profile and benefits. This rich balance encourages the “entourage effect,” which allows them to be combined in a way that is greater than the sum of their individual parts. Our Rare Hawaiian CBD is a full spectrum CBD oil extracted from hemp grown in Hawaii.
An isolate starts with the hemp plant, but is extracted to contain only that specific cannabinoid, and does not contain the plant’s other compounds. Our Single Extracts are also known as isolates. We suggest using them in combination with our full spectrum CBD oil or a full or broad spectrum CBD or THC oil of your choice to reap the rewards of the entourage effect. By using an isolate, you can control how much of that rare cannabinoid you receive and can take it in much higher doses than would ever occur naturally in a full or broad spectrum oil.
A broad spectrum oil is one in which a particular cannabinoid has been filtered out (in most cases THC) preserving the integrity of the rest of the plant’s compounds. If you would like to receive the benefits of the entourage effect but do not want to have any traces of THC in your CBD oil, we suggest you use our sister company Hawaiian Choice’s products. All Hawaiian Choice products contain broad spectrum CBD that has had THC filtered to undetectable levels. These products can be shipped to and made available in places with very strict THC laws, such as Japan, but please check your local laws if you have any concerns.
Yes, all Rare Cannabinoid Company products are produced in a cGMP facility. cGMP refers to the current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations enforced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
cGMP is the main regulatory standard for ensuring the quality of pharmaceutical medicines. Although our products are not pharmaceutical drugs, this regulation ensures that each batch of every product meets the highest quality standards and consumers can be assured that they are safe. cGMPs provide systems that assure proper design, monitoring and control of manufacturing processes and facilities. Adherence to the cGMP regulations assures customers of the identity, strength, quality and purity of products.
cGMPs are important because a consumer cannot usually detect (through smell, touch, sight or taste) if a CBD or rare cannabinoid product is safe. It is therefore important that, in addition to independent lab testing, that they are manufactured in facilities that are in good condition, equipment that is properly maintained and calibrated, employees who are qualified and fully trained, and processes that are reliable and reproducible. This certification ensures all of those quality controls.

You can find independent lab test results for each batch of every product here.
Results are also shown on every product page.
This is the name given to the complex synergistic relationship between the hundreds of compounds found in the hemp plant, including cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids and essential fatty acids. By preserving the rich natural balance of the plant’s compounds, the full and broad spectrum oils allow them to be combined in a way that is greater than the sum of their individual parts.
CBD and most rare cannabinoids are not psychoactive, which means they will not get you high.
However, Delta-8-THC can be psychoactive. It is believed to be about half to two-thirds as intoxicating as Delta-9-THC or "regular" THC. Do not drive or operate machinery while taking Delta-8-THC.
CBN and THCV have been reported to be intoxicating at very high levels, however the amounts reported far exceed the doses we recommend taking.
Although Delta-8-THC is derived from hemp instead of cannabis, it will very likely cause you to fail a drug test due to its similarity to "regular" Delta-9-THC.
For the rest of our CBD and rare cannabinoid products, it would be very unlikely to fail a drug test, but it is possible and we cannot guarantee that you will pass a drug test. This is why:
Our single extracts contain Zero THC (which means psychoactive THC was filtered to below lab detectable levels on our third-party lab test reports) and our full spectrum CBD oil and full spectrum blends contain less than 0.3% THC (the legal limit for hemp-derived products in the USA). You can download batch reports here.
Drug tests are looking for THC. However, given the different types of tests and their varied sensitivity and accuracy, there is the chance that they could accidentally pick up a trace amount of CBD or mistaken another rare cannabinoid for THC.
We would therefore recommend that if you need to be drug tested that you either discuss your options with your employer (or whoever is requiring the test) or refrain from taking cannabinoids.

Where do we ship from?
We have two shipping warehouses -
- For the lower 48 states - We ship out of Las Vegas. Orders received by 11am PST each business day will usually ship the same day.
- For Hawaii, Alaska, and International - We ship out of Hawaii. Orders received by 9am HST each business day will usually ship the same day.
Tracking your order
When you place an order, you receive a confirmation email.
The same or next business day (according to the cut-off deadlines above), you will receive a second email with a tracking link in the afternoon when we pack your order.
You will also receive a third email when it's been delivered.
- Can't open the tracking link? Some email browsers have security settings that do not allow you to open links - instead you can simply copy and paste the actual tracking number into the Google search bar and it will open a link to allow you to search for the package on the courier's page.
- Tracking email didn't arrive? Please check your spam folder the next business day after you placed your order. Can't find it? Please contact us.
- No estimated date showing on the courier's page? The couriers will pickup the orders the same day we pack your order, but sometimes their systems can take 24 hours to update with an estimated arrival date. Please keep checking.
How long will it take?
We will ship your order quickly but we are not in control of the mail system and can't guarantee the timelines they quote. Sometimes unfortunately delays happen which are out of our control. Remember that "business days" as quoted by the couriers generally means "weekdays, excluding holidays" but occasionally includes Saturday depending on your local delivery. Therefore 5-8 business days means 1-1.5 weeks.
- Ground shipping - typically this option takes 5-8 business days (1-1.5 weeks) and is usually shipped by DHL who then hands it to USPS to do the final delivery.
- USPS - typically this option takes 3-5 business days (up to 1 week).
- Expedited - typically this option takes 2-3 business days and is either UPS or FedEx.
- International - there is more variability here depending on where it's shipping. Please see the shipping options presented, and remember that sometimes orders can get delayed in customs and/or may require local tax or duty to be paid on your end to pickup the order. We can not control this unfortunately.
Order says delivered but can't find it?
If your tracking info says your item was delivered but you have not received it, please check with your neighbors/landlord/anywhere it may be. Sometimes the courier will deliver it accidentally to your neighbor and it shows up 3-4 days later. If you cannot find it, please contact us and we will help you locate it.
